How to Get Fired by Your Agent

You’ve signed the contract, the ink is dry, you’re ready to hit the ground running. Now is the time to develop a professional relationship with your agency and put your best foot forward. If you want to stay on their roster, be sure not to commit these mortal model sins that will get you fired in a heartbeat.

Not Booking Out

Booking Out means letting your agency know about upcoming dates when you are 100% unavailable for castings or bookings. If they know in advance, it saves time on pitching you for a project you can’t work.

Stalling Communication

If your agent emails or calls you, it is imperative that you respond immediately to take advantage of the opportunity they are providing and to stay in their good graces. You snooze, you loose.

Flaking Out

If you are late to a booking or cancel last minute, your agency will swiftly cancel you. This can also leave a blemish on your record. Remember, this is a small industry. Don’t earn a bad reputation by not fulfilling your obligations.
